Next Saturday 16 June at 7pm in The Anglican Cathedral of St Paul there will be a concert to raise funds for the Organ Appeal.

The participants are: David Johnson, Organ who will play Arioso by Bach, The Grand March from Aïda by Verdi, and Trumpet Tune by Purcell.

Mariella Magri on violin and Christine Zerafa on flute, will be accompanied by Geoffrey Tanti on keyboard, who will also be accompanist for the singers: (Sopranos) Arleen Barlow (right), Katherine Brown, Kimberley Grech, Jessica Zammit and Mandy Zammit, and (Mezzo Sopranos) Claire Aquilina, Danika Sammut and Francesca Zarb.

The programme will contain music by traditional composers including Brahms, Faure, Mendelssohn, Malotte, Gounod, Caccini, Brodsky, Rubenstein, Mascagni and Purcell. Modern composers include Sondheim, Smith, Foreman, Houston, and Greene, who will give the programme a distinctly different sound than that normally associated with a religious concert. There will be a collection at the end of the concert for The Organ Restoration fund.
