President Visits Cyprus

President Fenech Adami is due in Cyprus this morning for a three-day visit of official talks with Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos.

Following the welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace, the two Presidents will hold a private meeting and official talks with the participation of their delegations, and will make statements to the press.

Tomorrow Dr Fenech Adami will meet House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias and Archbishop Chrysostomos II, who will accompany him on a visit to the Cathedral of St John and the Makarios III Foundation.

The President will also visit the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Municipality of Nicosia, the old city of Nicosia and the ceasefire line, accompanied by Nicosia Mayor Eleni Mavrou, who will present him with the Medal of the City of Nicosia. President Papadopoulos will host a state banquet in his honour.

On Tuesday, Dr Fenech Adami will visit Larnaca, where he will visit the Cultural Centre, the Pierides Museum and the Byzantine church of Saint Lazarus, accompanied by Larnaca Mayor Andreas Moyseos.

When he returns to Nicosia later that day Dr Fenech Adami will host a reception in honour of President Papadopoulos before leaving the island.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Michael Frendo, and a business delegation will accompany the Maltese President.
