President On State visit to Cyprus

President Eddie Fenech Adami and Mrs Fenech Adami, together with Foreign Affairs Minister Michael Frendo yesterday left Malta for a two-day State visit to Cyprus.

This morning, President Fenech Adami will meet the President of Cyprus, Tassos Papadopoulos and later the President of the House of Representatives, Demetris Christofias, Archbishop Chrysostomos II, the Mayor of Nicosia, Eleni Mavrou and the Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Moyseos.

A business delegation composed of representatives from the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, the Malta Tourism Authority, the Malta Stock Exchange and six Maltese companies, are also in Cyprus for the State visit.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry will be organising a business forum and one-to-one meetings between Maltese businessmen and their Cypriot counterparts, while Minister Frendo will hold talks with the Cypriot Foreign Minister, Yiorgos Lillikas.

Until the President and Mrs Fenech Adami return to Malta tomorrow, George Hyzler will be Acting President.
