Champions Marsaxlokk claimed five awards in the sixth edition of the Melita Digital Malta Football Awards which was held at the Corinthia Palace Hotel on Saturday.
Daniel Bogdanovic was voted Best Forward and Best Maltese Player. Luke Dimech and Kevin Sammut were voted Best Defender and Best Midfielder respectively. The award for best coach went to Brian Talbot, who led Marsaxlokk to their first ever championship win.
Sliema Wanderers goalkeeper Murphy Akanji was voted Best Goalkeeper while another two Sliema players - Joe Brincat and David Carabott shared the award for the Best Veteran Player.
The Most Promising Youngster award was won by Valletta’s striker Ian Zammit while goalkeeper Saviour Darmanin was voted Powerade Outstanding Player by the sporting public after polling the highest number of sms votes during the programme MFA Magazine.
The best goal of the season was that scored by Valletta captain Gilbert Agius in the friendly against Austria.
Msida St. Joseph's Ibrahim Babatunde was voted Best Foreign Player.
Stephen Meilak of Hamrun Spartans was voted Best First Division Player while Noel Bray (Southenders) claimed the award for the Best Futsal Player.
Maria Azzopardi from Hibernians won the award for the Best Female Player while Xaghra United's Chris Camilleri was voted the Best Onvol First Division Player in Gozo.
The newly introduced award for the Best Support was won by Hibernians.
Other special awards were presented during the gala night to the Malta Football Association, Youth Football Association and the Gozo Football Association as well as for Malta international striker Michael Mifsud.
