Mr Giovanni De Martino is right to complain about water leaks in Triq Ruzar Mizzi in his letter Water Leak (TMID, 7 June), except that he is barking up the wrong tree.

In the run-up to the Mosta local elections, the Local Council and ADT decided to resurface the street without consulting the Water Services Corporation. When WSC officials realised that resurfacing work was in progress, both the Local Council and ADT were warned in writing that the water mains and services in the street needed to be changed first.

The work proceeded in spite of this warning and the WSC duly sent a protest in writing to record what had happened.
