The news from the Loathe camp is that the hardcore metallers are still revving with energy following their Enemies of Mediocrity Tour in the UK last March. The tour was the band’s first foreign experience, although they have performed locally alongside foreign bands such as Labrat, Scurge, Freebase and Defenestration in the past. The band is currently preparing to enter the studio with the intention of recording five brand new tracks this summer. These will feature on the band’s third and as-yet-untitled EP release, further to their debut Abort/Retry/Fail, which was more of a crossover job, and Up Close and Personal, a blend of metal riffage and melodic groove more in sync with their current direction. Meanwhile, Loathe will be performing live at Poxx Bar on Saturday, with support from industrial metallers [Core Frequency], the new band featuring former members of Spin. DJ Kawk, back from Australia, will be spinning tunes in between bands and during the after-party! Last but not least, Loathe have also uploaded two new video clips taken at the band’s gig at Wakefield’s The Snooty Fox in March.
