Jason Azzopardi, MP, chairman of the standing committee on foreign and European affairs, is leading a delegation made up of MPs Joseph Abela, Michael Asciak, Stefan Buontempo, Joseph Cuschieri, Angelo Farrugia, Roderick Galdes, Gavin Gulia, Silvio Parnis, Anton Refalo, Joseph Sammut and George Vella on a one-day visit to Brussels today.

They will have meetings with Commissioner Joaquin Almunia responsible for economic and monetary affairs, Commissioner Andris Piebalgs responsible for energy and Commissioner Joe Borg responsible for fisheries and maritime affairs.

Other meetings will be held with Patrick Child, Head of Cabinet to Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, responsible for external relations and European neighbourhood policy, Ms Petra Erler, Head of Cabinet to Vice-President Gunter Verheugen and Nikolaus van der Pas, director general for employment, social affairs and equal opportunities.
