Simon Zammit has been eliminated from the 2007 European Snooker Championships after going down 1-5 to Bjorn Haneever of Belgium in the last 16.
Zammit made a good start winning the first frame but the Belgian took the next three to lead 3-1 at the interval. The fifth frame went the Belgian’s way as well, but Zammit was unlucky in the way he lost the frame after going in off a snooker on which he had been successful.
Haneever wrapped up victory by winning the sixth to book a place into the quarter finals where he will play Martin McCrudden of the Republic of Ireland.
