The College of Jazz Dance will be holding its annual production on Saturday, 30 June at the Mediterranean Conference Centre. As in previous years, this production is being staged in collaboration with the YADA Dance Company, a name that is synonymous with the local arts and theatre scene,

particularly where dance is concerned.

This year’s theme will focus on various and different issues surrounding us, hence the name Dance Issues. The first act is entitled Save the Planet and will feature the college’s junior dancers. It is based on a fictional story about a daughter and her father, an inventor, who, by means of a travel machine, visit various places around the world that are being affected by global warming. The second act is entitled Books. The choreographers have taken their inspiration from literature, (some from books and some from a poem), which in itself often presents a particular issue.

Direction is in the capable hands of Felix Busuttil and Justin Roy Barker, artistic directors of the College of Jazz Dance. The production will also feature choreography by Alison Bird, Annemarie Busuttil, Claire Cassola, Audrey Ellul Sullivan, Daniela Farrugia Randon, Daron Galea, Lara Lanfranco, Fiona Mckeown, Kristina Schranz and Ingrid Spiteri.
