He emphasised that employers are already realising that investment in training is crucial in the recruitment and retention of staff in such a competitive sector. He said, “The rapid growth of this industry in Malta, made the location of the iGaming Academy an obvious choice. We are confident that through the specialist trainers we employ, the joint venture with the Malta’s Lotteries & Gaming Authorities and the skills of our training manager, Christel Sommervold, the iGaming Academy will prove to be a successful venture.” Christopher Vella, director of iGaming Academy commented: “The response from the Lotteries and Gaming Authority and from the operators themselves is extremely encouraging.”

In order for the iGaming Academy to keep abreast with the specific training needs of this industry, it has also launched an on-line survey on their website for iGaming executives to share their views on training with the company. Christel Sommervold said, “This is just one of a series of regular surveys the academy will be issuing to assess how to best serve the specific requirements of iGaming companies”.

iGaming Academy has been providing training to the Maltese on-line gaming market and has worked with LGA on the training course “Remote Gaming: Industry Introduction” to create public awareness on remote gaming in Malta.
