Enemalta Corporation said that as a result of a fault on turbo-alternator eight in the Marsa power station on Friday at 7.20pm, switching operations had to be carried out resulting in power outages in Santa Venera, Birkirkara, San Gwann, Iklin, Qormi, Zebbug, Attard, Lija, Mosta, St Julian’s, Swieqi, St Andrews, Ibrag, Ta’ Giorni, Gzira, Sliema and Madliena.

All areas were switched on again by 9pm but another fault occurred on boiler eight yesterday morning and switching operations were started at 5.40am affecting the same areas. Electricity was restored by 7.50am.
