One Maltese bartender will be participating in the 42nd edition of the Bacardi Martini Grand Prix 2007 World Finals. Adrian Magro, bartender at Hugo’s Lounge in Paceville won the Classical Category for Bartender. Malta’s most prestigious cocktail competition, organised annually for the international Bacardi Martini Grand Prix, was held at the Hilton in St Julian’s.
Mr Magro will represent Malta and compete at the World Finals in which participants from 24 European countries will compete later this month in Turin, Italy. “What an exciting night; I never thought of winning this prestigious competition since this is the first time I am participating!” commented Mr Magro after receiving the winning ticket to Turin.
Bacardi Martini Grand Prix participants are judged on their cocktail, their preparation skills and even their general knowledge to assess their ability to professionally relate to customers on the job. The Malta edition of the Bacardi Martini Grand Prix was organised by Wands Limited, the importer of Bacardi in Malta, and P. Cutajar Ltd, the importer of Martini, in collaboration with the Maltese Bartenders’ Guild.
