New MFA Headquarters to be inaugurated next week

Malta Independent Tuesday, 19 June 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

Wednesday 27 June will be a big day for the MFA since a new chapter will be etched in the annals of the association.

The occasion will be the inauguration of the new MFA Headquarters at the Millennium Stand, National Stadium, Ta’ Qali.

This is the first time that the association is moving its administrative centre out of Valletta. The Headquarters at 280, St Paul’s Street, owned by the association since 1983, had become too small for the MFA to conduct its operations from.

Administrative work had to be done in comfortably spacious surroundings which befit modern times. The two floors at the Millennium Stand were an ideal place for such a base.

Work on the new premises started last year, and thanks to funding, mainly by FIFA, other financial backing from the Swiss TV and Advertising firm Infront AG, complemented by the MFA’s share, the project has now become a reality.

Dr Edward Fenech Adami, President of Malta, will inaugurate the new premises in the presence of MFA officials and other distinguished guests, including top FIFA and UEFA officials.
