Pharmacy Brew on the boil

Malta Independent Wednesday, 20 June 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

The Union Haddiema Maghqudin complained that after a meeting each with the Director General of Health and with the Health Minister, it still did not have any detailed information about the pharmacy of your choice scheme. The only detail the director general gave was that it was a decision taken by the government, which will sign the agreement this week, and later see what needed to be done.

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, the union said, knew little or nothing about what would happen when the agreement was signed. This was creating unnecessary tension among employees and until they were told in writing what the agreement included, they would not participate in the scheme.

The union said further actions could be ordered relating to the scheme if the employees were not informed about it.
