President Eddie Fenech Adami is on an official visit to Kercem, at the invitation of the local council, and started his visit with a meeting with students and teachers.

He visited two schools, the state primary Peter Paul Grech school, and St Theresa school of the Missionary Carmelite Sisters of St Theresa of Baby Jesus, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

In the afternoon the President visited Sta Lucija, which is within the boundaries of Kercem council, where he met artist Austin Camilleri and carpenter Guzeppi Borg, before meeting residents and hearing Mass at Sta Lucija church. The day was concluded with a meeting with non-government organisations in Kercem.

On Sunday, the President and Mrs Fenech Adami will spend the morning with residents on the church parvis and after Mass will visit local families and the local council offices.
