Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, has announced that four of Europe’s top soccer clubs will face each other in a pre-season tournament that is to be held at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal, Paris St-Germain, Valencia and Inter make up the four teams that will battle it out for the Emirates Cup at the Gunners’ home ground this year on 28 and 29 July. Two matches will be played on each day, with Inter taking on Valencia to kick proceedings off on the Saturday, followed shortly afterwards by Arsenal versus PSG.

Sunday’s fixtures see Valencia play PSG, with Arsenal and Inter bringing the competition to an exciting finale where Patrick Vieira will come face to face with some of his old colleagues. Games kick off at 2pm (BST) and 4.15pm (BST) on both days with teams being awarded three points for a win, one for a draw and one point for each goal they score in the tournament. The Emirates Cup will be awarded to the winners following the second match on the Sunday.

Emirates operates five flights weekly from Malta to Dubai via Larnaca, Cyprus, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, now on the new Boeing 777-200 .
