A new fashion line was recently launched in Malta, during the Malta Fashion Awards.

Madmat Couture Ltd has revealed a line of fashion wear mainly for young men, although a number of female designs were also presented.

The designer, Matthew Mallia, is qualified in graphic design with particular emphasis on art, photography, technical drawing, and history of art. Apart from following a number of courses, which have helped Matthew to develop his own ideas in clothing design, he has also traveled extensively and absorbed the cultures and trends of other Mediterranean countries – an influence that one can immediately detect in his designs.

Through the courtesy of Adrian Mizzi, Madmat Couture was launched during the Malta Fashion Awards, where 22 designs were presented on the catwalk, 17 for males and 5 for females. For this participation, models were sponsored by Ingrid Millet gifts while hair was done by Mark and Luke from Designers’ Cut Salon in Mellieha. Make up was by Matthew Mallia himself together with Alexia Licari. Furthermore, Kama sponsored all the 22 models to luxurious Ingrid Millet perle de caviar facial treatment.

Madmat Couture has succeeded in interpreting the needs of today’s trendy clothing for young people, with an eye for detail and a special designer’s touch.

“Clothing is a way of revealing oneself,” we were told by a spokesman for the newly set up company. “The design of such clothing is an expression and interpretation of one’s mood, personality and feelings. We have worked on this train of thought to come up with original designs to allow the young and the not so young, who have the flair and physique, to wear these garments. We are sure that by wearing them, one will find not only expression and uniqueness, but above all comfort ”.
