I refer to the article titled “ ‘No inquiry needed’ – government” (TMID, 21 June).

While acknowledging that the content of the said article faithfully reproduced the statement published by the government on Wednesday 20 June, I feel I need to point out that the headline of the said article goes against the spirit of the same statement.

In fact, and as correctly reproduced in your reportage, the government is retaining the right to decide on whether to take any further steps regarding the Ramla l-Hamra case at a later stage and - this in light of the fact that one of the registered objectors on this case has already made a public statement conveying his intention to file an appeal against MEPA’s decision.

The government’s line of action on this matter reflects its respect towards and trust in the existing mechanisms of appeal as provided by law.
