GO Plus will be expanding its digital television network coverage in the coming months and will be operating on a new set of frequencies as assigned by the Malta Communications Authority.

The expansion project will be carried out in collaboration with the international firm Electrosys, which was selected on grounds of its excellent track record in supplying solutions adapted to the local environment.

Electrosys is a worldwide market leader in the manufacture of digital transmission equipment and boasts over 15,000 broadcasting and telecommunication system installations in more than 130 countries worldwide.

Meanwhile, GO Plus is working closely with its newly-appointed strategic provider of multi-platform video-processing solutions, Tandberg Television – a company that now forms part of the Ericsson Group.

Under terms of an agreement signed recently between the two companies, Tandberg Television will provide GO Plus with a wide range of advanced digital video technologies enabling it to roll out live and on-demand digital TV services.

Furthermore, GO Plus will rely on Tandberg’s outstanding expertise and experience in class technologies, systems integration and turnkey project skills management, to deploy a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure capable of supporting the provision of advanced digital media solutions in the very near future.

Tandberg’s system is scaleable and can expand to support the introduction of new services including mobile TV and IPTV in the not-so-distant future.
