Ambassador Molly Bordonaro was the guest speaker at an alumni meeting of the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies (MEDAC).
MEDAC alumni from several countries, including Malta, Turkey, Italy, Philippines, Nigeria, Burundi, Palestine, Tunisia, Georgia, China, Iraq and Montenegro joined the Ambassadors of Greece, China and Libya to hear a presentation on Multilateral Cooperation and Mediterranean Security.
Ambassador Bordonaro focused on the importance of multilateral cooperation, diplomacy, security, and economic and democratic development in building a safe and secure Mediterranean.
She highlighted three programmes: NATO’s Operation Active Endeavour, Mediterranean Dialogue and the US Government’s Middle East Partnership Initiative.
Following the presentation the ambassador took questions from the distinguished audience. She thanked the organisers for the opportunity to have discussions with people from so many different countries and wished all the Alumni success in their future careers.
Many of the MEDAC alumni are now in the diplomatic corps of their respective countries.
