I would like to refer to what your columnist Daphne Caruana Galizia wrote in her article, Leadership by squawking and flapping (TMID, 14 June).

Instead of being four square with the government and the opposition and other parties on how irregular migration is pressing hard on our densely-populated nation, out comes Ms Caruana Galizia’s ridiculing of our leaders.

Yes we know that we are in the EU but that doesn’t mean that we shall take every “yes” for an answer. After all, the EU criticised Malta for Libya’s failings to save the irregular migrants.

Ms Caruana Galizia should have shown herself as a true Maltese and criticised Libya for ignoring its legal obligations. Yet again Ms Caruana Galizia has again embarrassed us Maltese.
