Dr Joseph Mifsud yesterday announced that vice-president John Farrugia had suspended himself from the post of vice-president after being investigated by the police in the recent case involving the Malta Maritime Authority.
Dr Mifsud said he felt Farrugia had acted correctly in the circumstances, even if everyone is presumed innocent before being found guilty.
The MFA president said Farrugia had informed him that he (Farrugia) was suspending himself until next month's annual general meeting and until then, he would have no more connections with the MFA.
"It is not a resignation. However, it is unfortunate for the association to be losing his services. He was very active," he said
