President Eddie Fenech Adami yesterday presented the 2007 Pope John XXIII prize for kindness to nine-year-old Gail Mifsud, who attends the Marija Bambina primary school in Mellieha.

Dr Fenech Adami explained that Gail is an example, not only for her friends and children her age, but also for youths and adults.

Gail was awarded the prize for helping and supporting her close friend Deborah Cilia, who has special needs. Gail helped Deborah integrate with her classmates and when they attend the Craft Centre on Saturday.

Dr Fenech Adami pointed out that knowledge without wisdom is not enough.

“Wisdom gives moral substance and ethics to our actions. Without it, we can never have a complete education,” he said.
