Traffic Accident in Sliema

Malta Independent Thursday, 28 June 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Traffic was at a standstill yesterday afternoon at around 1pm on the Strand in Sliema due to a traffic accident between a mobile squad car and another vehicle driven by a woman.

According to the police officers, the mobile squad was called, and on its way to provide back-up to another mobile unit in Fgura, the siren was put on as a warning to other drivers.

The woman, driving a small white car, was on the right lane and tried to change lanes to allow the mobile squad to pass.

However, she lost control of the car, which turned 360 degrees, crashing into the police car and several potted plants on the centre strip.

No one was injured in the accident.
