The Euro Challenge Cup will kick off the new local football season on 9 July, with the match between Trophy winners Hibernians and Sliema Wanderers.

The loser of this first game will then play champions Marsaxlokk, two days later while the winners of the first match will play Marsaxlokk on 13 July.

In case of a draw in the first game, Marsaxlokk will play Hibernians first and then Sliema Wanderers on the last day.
