Group Exhibition in Gozo

Malta Independent Sunday, 1 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Pawl Carbonaro (b.1948), Mark Sagona (b.1976) and Victor Spiteri (b.1945) will be teaming up in a collective exhibition in Gozo next month. The exhibition will be hosted by the art..e gallery in Library Street, Victoria from 7 July to 2 August.

This exhibition brings together a number of paintings by three established artists that are united by the underlying theme of landscape. Carbonaro, a leading light in the Maltese artistic firmament, will be exhibiting a number of his typical forceful and well-known works inspired by his continuous travels in the Mediterranean. Sagona, by far the youngest of the trio, will be showing very recent works inspired by popular local landmarks interpreted in his own distinct vibrant style.

Victor Spiteri, fresh from his sculpture exhibition in the same venue held in May, will put up various quasi-abstract works that are inspired by the suggestive qualities of water, skies and natural forms.

The exhibition will be open from Monday to Saturday from 9.30 to 12.15pm and on Fridays also from 5 to 7pm. The collection may also be viewed privately by appointment by calling on 9980 4774 or 2155 7911.
