Why does Daphne Caruana Galizia keep harping on about the shoelace and glove miracles of St Gorg Preca and ridiculing them as if such things cannot happen? (TMIS, 24 June)

It is simply a matter of faith. Either one is a believer and endowed with faith or not. Miracles do happen because God wants them to happen for the good of the beneficiary and the benefit of believers. Jesus Christ Himself when He lived among us cured a blind man by mixing His spittle with dust. I am sure nobody in his right senses will recommend such a method for a cure unless he is ready to risk an infection!

What greater intervention by God can there be than the Virgin Conception of His Son?
