Dear Prime Minister, I remember you saying: “The result of the referendum on Malta’s entry into the EU said with a loud voice (screaming) that the people of Malta wanted to join the EU, and Dr Alfred Sant did not listen to them.” I also remember you speaking about the case of John Dalli and his consequent resignation as minister: “We must not only be clean but we must be seen as clean”, or something in that vein.

Dear Prime Minister, so many people are shocked by the horrendous decision to continue the development near Ramla Bay, be it the Ulysses Lodge complex, be it the Nadur cemetery, can you not hear the many people screaming in protest? And is it not that justice with the natural environment is not seen to be done?

Dear Prime Minister, you who have succeeded in controlling the monsters of inflation and the deficit, you who steered our economy back to life, who is ushering us into the eurozone, the saviour of Malta, like Mintoff was before you in the 1970s, can you not do something to repeal these MEPA decisions that will desecrate Ramla Bay? Modern day Ulysses, can’t you see they are about to ruin your home?
