I have lived abroad for many years – a grand total of 28 years – and I never experienced any electricity power cuts during those years in the UK, Germany, Belgium, Hong Kong, Cyprus and the USA.
My wife and I dined unexpectedly by romantic candlelight under a starry sky on Friday, 14 June at the open-air Pizza, Pasta, Basta at Attard.
The only snag was that we could have neither pizza nor pasta. The lights went out just after we ordered our drinks. Not to be deterred, we had a feast of a terrific starter dip and a combination of healthy salads, drowned in a bottle of tasty wine.
My wife and I would like to thank Enemalta for providing us with an unforgettable, romantic, healthy and unexpected candlelight dinner right on our doorstep. We were staying for a few days at our favourite Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard.
Keep it up Enemalta. With all these unexpected electricity power cuts, hundreds of Maltese couples are having to go to bed earlier, due to the lack of anything better to do. You are doing much to improve the love-life of hundreds of Maltese couples.
I foresee a dramatic rise in the country’s birth rate.
Oh by the way, this letter was written by candlelight, as there was yet another power cut in my hometown, Zebbug, a few days later.
