Maltese double trap shooter William Chetcuti failed to impress yesterday in the ISSF World Cup held in Maribor Slovenia.

In the first three rounds of 50 clays each, William Chetcuti could only tally a total of 132, way below the top six who qualified for the final barrage.

William Chetcuti hit only 42 in the first round, doing better in the second and third rounds hitting 44 and 46 respectively.

Italian shooter Danillo won the gold medal after hitting 145 in the first three rounds and 47 in the barrage for a total of 192 clays. Swedish Dhalby placed second with 190 and American Eller finished third with 188 hits.

William Chetcuti’s next international participation will be in the ISSF European Championships in Granada Spain on 13 July
