‘Climate Change’ Event for Children

Malta Independent Thursday, 5 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

Children will have a chance to actively participate in the events being organised at the Qawra Point Green Village for the Climate Change Malta event being held from tomorrow until Sunday. The HSBC Cares For The Environment Fund (HCEF) is supporting this event, which falls within one of the bank’s areas of social commitment – the environment.

The weekend event will include a typical Maltese village feast atmosphere promoting environmental awareness, tourism, culture and the arts. Shows for children in the Kids Zone will start at 8pm, while the Village is open daily from 7pm to 1am, featuring local and foreign entertainment including popular Italian singer Marco Masini.

Children will enjoy numerous shows put on for them over the weekend. These include illusions, games, live music, magic, a Walt Disney show and animation from well known Broadway musicals.

“Climate Change Malta is an excellent example of how to instil environmental awareness among the public, reaching a large number of people through popular music and entertainment,” said HSBC Malta CEO Shaun Wallis. “Let’s hope everyone tidies up before they go home.”
