Malta Independent Thursday, 5 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Lydia Caruana, Malta’s acclaimed soprano, is breaking new ground and her career is being closely followed by HSBC Malta, who has supported her in developing her voice potential. Ms Caruana has, in fact, just returned from Vienna where she has been furthering her studies.

HSBC supported Ms Caruana’s participation in a recent concert with tenor Joseph Calleja in Regensburg, Germany, where their performance was met by numerous ovations in the famous concert hall. The concert was part of the Rathauskonzerte Series 2007, a concert series that has seen performances by such artistes as Renè Kollo, Thereza Berganza, Barbara Hendricks and Cheryl Studer.

“HSBC is delighted to be associated with Lydia Caruana who is such a wonderful soprano and ambassador for Malta,” said HSBC Malta CEO Shaun Wallis. “We all wish Lydia the very best with her career.”

“I am very pleased with HSBC Malta’s collaboration and welcome their appreciation of my art,” said Ms Caruana.
