Either Omar Borg or Saviour Darmanin could be between the Birkirkara posts next season, according to unofficial reports reaching the offices of The Malta Independent.
The Stripes did not extend the contract of foreign goalie Andrzj Bledzewski of Poland at the end of last season, and Borg or Darmanin could be expected to be one of the three goalies in the Stripes ranks next season.
The others are veteran Sean Sullivan and Under 21 international Bernard Paris.
Birkirkara have been showing interest in the Msida goalie for several months and it seems as if now is the right time for them to make a swoop for Borg, considered as one of the best on the island by many.
As for Darmanin, who also had a short spell with the Stripes two seasons ago, Birkirkara might encounter some competition for his services.
Darmanin, who was on Valletta’s books last season, is also thought to be on the wanted list of newly promoted Hamrun Spartans.
