Three Children win great prizes from Crayola

Malta Independent Friday, 6 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

The winners of the Crayola winter colouring competition were recently invited to Juniors Fun & Learn Centre in San Gwann to receive their prizes. The competition was organised for all the children who visited Juniors during the winter months with their respective schools. The visit to the shop included an educational tour for the children, where matters like the importance of warning labels, safety features of toys, the “reduce, reuse and recycle” concept and the disposal of batteries, among others, were discussed with the children.

Jacques Vella Critien who attends San Gwann primary school, was the winner of the first prize, while Jade Paget from Newark College and Maya Agius who attends Marsascala primary school, won the second and third prizes respectively. All the winners got Crayola gifts, which will help them develop their creativity while having fun. The three schools were also presented with arts and crafts materials, as recognition for their participation.

Elaine Brincat, operations manager at Juniors, presented the gifts. She said it was a tough job to choose the winners as there were many valid entries. The drawings of the three winners were chosen as they were the most creative and made best use of colours. She congratulated the winners and encouraged more children to participate in other colouring activities organised by Juniors Fun & Learn Centre.
