I refer to the letter by Chev. Col Dr Raymond Bencini from Zebbug, Dining in the Dark (TMID, 3 July), who was spending a few days at the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard. I am pleased to see that contrary to the rest of us, due to a power cut, he enjoyed a romantic, healthy and unexpected candlelit dinner.
However, what concerns me most is the fact that he foresees a dramatic rise in the country’s birth rate due to the Maltese couples having to go to bed earlier than usual.
With the number of migrants arriving in our shores at an alarming rate and with our population already at 400,000 bodies, Malta definitely does not need any encouragement, sexual or otherwise, to produce more babies. So guys go easy, and keep the birth rate down as much as possible or Malta will sink under the weight.
