Dr Ray Bondin was the the main speaker at the Premio Citta Antica that was held in Naples on Thursday evening, during which one of the most active citizens of Naples in the field of heritage protection was presented with the prize.

Dr Bondin was invited to address the event, which took place in the Piazza del Gesu Nuovo, as President of CIVVIH, the Historic Towns and Villages International Committee. He spoke to the large crowd that filled the square on the subject of the management of historic cities and on the particular importance of Naples.

As part of the evening, a film by Giulio Pane on the problems of Naples was shown.

There were also some

historic readings, as well as a short concert by the Le Archetipe group, which includes the three brothers Grima, whose father was Joseph Grima, a well known music teacher in Naples.

The presence of Dr Bondin was given a lot of importance in the media and in all the presentations made in connection with the evening. He was thanked very warmly for his presentation by President of the Municipality Alberto Patruno, and Tiziana Iorio on behalf of the Committee Citta Antica.

This was the second time in three months that Dr Bondin was requested to speak in Naples on the problems faced by historic cities and on the complexities of managing such cities.
