Malta Independent Saturday, 7 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Ira Losco is back in the recording studio, working on new songs with her mentor and manager Howard Keith.

Also in the pipeline is the release of her first DVD at the end of summer. Those who were unable to make it to Ira’s Vodafone jam unplugged concert will have the chance to see it on DVD, together with other interesting footage.

Jagged House Management (Ira’s management company) have four main events lined up for her this summer, with the singer headlining a string of concerts in Malta and Gozo. The most prominent event will probably the Isle of MTV Summer Festival on 26 July at the Granaries in Floriana. Ira was the first local artist hand chosen to perform on the same stage as international superstars Akon, Enrique Iglesias and Maroon 5, who are all currently enjoying the success of their latest album releases.

Ira will take the stage just before the international acts on the night. She will also be the supporting act for Gigi D’Alessio at Manoel Island.

“Every new project brings with it a ton of work, baggage and emotions, but never once has it crossed my mind to be doing anything different. To have on average two releases a year takes a lot of hard work, but I owe it to my fans who have always supported me,” said Ira.

Ira and her band will be performing her latest single Something to Talk about which will be released on Friday, 13 July. Then on 21 July she will kick off the XFM Coca Cola Festival performing before world renowned Steve Edwards. Other dates to look out for are 4 August, at the Great Beer Festival held annually in Ta Qali, and the Sole Festival –on 18 August in Gozo.

More details can be found on www.iralosco.com events page.

Ira Losco is supported by Vodafone, McDonalds, Guess, Global Capital, SG Solutions and Olimpus.
