The Nationalist Party yesterday condemned what it claimed were racist comments made by Labour MP Joe Sammut in Parliament and said it expected Labour leader Alfred Sant to discipline him.

Labour has already disassociated itself from Dr Sammut’s comments in which he called for a dedicated bus solely for illegal immigrants, among other things.

The Nationalist Party said things like human dignity, respect for other human beings and solidarity are unconditional and claimed Dr Sammut’s suggestion smacked of apartheid.
