From Mr F. Farrugia
I refer to Marie Benoit’s article in Gallarija (TMIS,1 July).
It seems that at various times in her writings, she trips over her own feet.
For instance, the sentence: “I made myself watch Bondi Minus on Tuesday to prove to myself how biased he is.” (my underlines). Ahem... that’s at least two people being biased, according to this sentence.
And as for her shedding tears when she “sang the national anthem”, well, she seems to have quite a poor memory – “must be age” (her words, not mine!) – since I can mention quite a few instances, when tears were shed during the singing of the national anthem. But, somehow from the way she writes, I don’t think she would be amused to remember certain events in Malta’s not too distant past, when thousands of Maltese were forced to tears when singing the national anthem. I wonder where she was then.
So much for memory.
Franco Farrugia
