Msida Saint Joseph yesterday announced that they have come to an agreement with Birkirkara FC to transfer defender Andrew Spiteri on loan for the coming season. Andrew Spiteri is an Under-21 international and he has been sought by several different clubs in the last few days.

He started his career with Pieta Hostpurs during season 2002/2003. He remained with Pieta till December 2006. Last January Spiteri joined Birkirkara.

Although he has still to celebrate his 21st birthday next month, Spiteri is experienced in the Premier League, after making his debut as a youngster. Spiteri is due to start training with the squad today.

This is the third signing of Msida SJ so far already, following the signings of Lawrence Mizzi and Clive Brincat, both from relegated club St George’s.
