The funeral of the victims of the fireworks

factory explosion that occurred on 27 June will be held on Saturday.

The funeral cortège will depart from St Luke’s Hospital at 7.30am for Valley Road, Birkirkara (opposite Mc Donald’s).

The cortege will then be accompanied by the two main bands to St Helena’s Basilica.

The funeral cortège for Carmelo Farrugia leaves St Helena’s Square at 9am for Valletta, where Mass will be held at 10am at the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Valletta.

The cortege will pass through Valley Road, Main Street, Constantine Street, Sanctuary Street and the square.

The organisers are calling on the public to kindly leave these roads free of parking.
