Clear summer skies, a soft breeze blowing in the majestic surroundings of Couvre Porte, Vittoriosa – and a phantom that hovers around, ready to entertain and frighten guests to the world-famous music of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s
masterpiece, The Phantom of the Opera.
Make no mistake, this is the recipe for three magical nights that the young people of Vittoriosa are once again offering at the Vittoriosa All’ Opera event. Under the patronage of Vittoriosa local council, and under the new name Square Wheel Entertainment, the same group of young people who took part in such performances as We Will Rock You, Dance of the Vampires, Night Fever, Evita and Jesus Christ Superstar are once again presenting a show that will surely entertain guests to the fullest.
The show will take place on 27, 28 and 29 July at the Post of France, Couvre Porte, Vittoriosa, which is part of the local council complex. This natural open-air
theatre space presents a unique backdrop between the historic bastions, which befits such a performance.
Over 80 young people are involved as cast and crew in the production, doing everything from directing to choreography to stage and prop designs and building. The wonderful costumes that are synonymous with the show are also being taken care of by the group itself. Lighting is provided by Nexos Lighting Technology, while the audio is once again entrusted to A-Sound.
Members of the audience will be welcomed with a glass of wine and finger-food, while being entertained with tango dancing by the DG Dance Troupe as well as performances by local singers (most notably Aldo Busuttil, Walter Micallef, Jay Omaro and Mark and Aldo Spiteri, ex-Lord Adder) over the three day-event.
All this is before the show itself, which will present extended highlights from the world-famous musical The Phantom of The Opera.
Tickets for the production can be booked by telephoning 2180-0613, 2180-0581, 9946-3589 or from the local council on 2166-2166.
