Goalkeeper Saviour Darmanin has signed a new one-year deal with the Citizens.

Club General Secretary Anton Abela told City’s official website www.vallettafcofficial.net that discussions had been concluded with the player.

Darmanin, 29, started his career with Pieta' H. in season 1994/95. In season 2004/2005 he was loaned to Birkirkara FC.

In season 2005/2006 he had a one-year spell with Ghajnsielem FC in Gozo’s first division. Last season Saviour joined Valletta FC on a one-year contract.

Another player, midfielder Keith Fenech extended his contract by another four years. Fenech, 31, joined Valletta FC in season 2002/2003. The hard working midfielder started his career with Rabat Ajax and later went on loan with Birkirkara FC. He won the FA trophy and also the Super 5 cup during his short spell with the Stripes.
