Architects had more responsibilities to observe today, Resources and Infrastructure Minister Ninu Zammit said when presenting the warrants to seven new ones.
Their role today, he said, was not only to plan, design and oversee the construction work, but also to ensure that their designs were compatible with the environment, the climate and the country’s architectural style.
Mr Zammit said buildings could help conserve energy. The way buildings were constructed, and their style, needed to take into consideration the material used, the size of windows, the roofing material and other similar aspects, the aim being to use energy in the most efficient way possible.
