This month the Malta Table Tennis Association will be sending its junior squads to two separate international events both of which will serve as a positive experience for these young talents to enhance their game and shift a gear up when it comes to competition.
The under-18 team will be travelling to Bratislava to compete in the European Youth Table Tennis Championships while the under-15 team will be in Hungary for this year's edition of the FISEC Games. It will compete in teams, singles, doubles and mixed doubles events.
Preparation is an ongoing exercise with these keen athletes training hard under the guidance of Mario Genovese. They have been undergoing sessions together as a team focusing in particular on the competitions ahead.
A final build to these International Youth Tournaments is the International Youth Training Camp held in Malta till tomorrow. Silver medallist at the GSSE Games held last month, Andrejz Makowski will be the Head Coach of this camp which will definitely add confidence to our youngsters. The Maltese players will also play against youngsters from Pol Sporting Club Catania.
Andrejz will definitely give importance to the physical aspect of the game along the individual needs of our boys and girls. Mario Genovese and David Pace will be accompanying the teams respectively to Slovenia and Hungary.
