Mr David Spiteri Gingell had been appointed Chief Executive Officer for Enemalta Corporation with effect from next Monday.
Mr Spiteri Gingell has been involved in the public sector for the last 23 years in a number of roles, notably his heading of the former Management Systems Unit (now MEU), chairmanship of the European-Mediterranean Initiative for Technology and Innovation (Euromediti), the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) and MITTS, for which he also served in the dual role of CEO until December 2006.
Mr Spiteri Gingell has over the years also been assigned a number of specific projects, including the drafting of a National Strategy for Industry, the re-design of the national budget process and the chairing of the Pensions Work Group, which was assigned to articulate proposals for pension reform.
Mr Spiteri Gingell will continue to serve as a non-executive chairman of MITTS Ltd and EuroMedITI.
