In a tight contested decider Hansel Mallia (photo) was crowned champion for the first time at the Valletta Subbuteo Club when he beat Charles Aquilina on shots after the game finished 1-1 after extra time.

Hansel Mallia took the lead early in the second half but a defensive blunder near the end of the match put Aquilina back in the game.

During extra time there were no goals and thus the winner had to be decided on shots where Mallia managed to win 2-0 for a final score of 3-1.

Charles Aquilina finished runner up and Mark Gauci third. The game was controlled by Mark Gauci.

In the Second Division Joe Borg Bonaci won the championship with Adrian Bonnici runner up and Andrew Ellul finishing third.

Malcolm Abdilla Castillo became champion in the Third Division with maximum points followed by promising youngster Andrew Abela and Joe Zammit Pavia taking third place.

The annual presentation will be held tomorrow after the the Super Cup match between Hansel Mallia (champion) and Derek Conti (Knock Out winner).

The game will start at 7pm at the club and the presentation will follow afterwards. It will be held at Luciano Restaurant followed by a Pasta Buffet.
