Malta yesterday suffered the second defeat in three games when Turkey emerged 14-9 winners in Group A.
The Turks edged out Malta in the second and fourth sessions, the other sessions ending all sqauare.
After drawing 2-2 in the first session Malta suffered a 2-4 set back in the second one, only to draw the third 3-3. Turkey imposed themselves in the fourth and final session to win 5-2.
On Tuesday Malta suffered a heavy 20-1 defeat against Belarus.
The players from Eastern Europe were dominating from the beginning with Vladimir Basic scoring seven goals in 32 minutes. Belarus won the sessions 4-0, 4-1, 8-0, 4-0.
Belarus obtained another win yesterday when they beat Belgium 27-7.
As expected French top player Frédéric Audon is currently leading the scorers list of the Championships.
CN Marseille’s player scored 22 goals in only three games.
Eoin Nolan, a deaf player from the current tailender Ireland, is ranking sixth with seven goals. Nolan is playing for Dublin-based club St Vincent´s in the Irish League and has already gained quite a number of titles.
He won five gold medals at the swimming competitions of the Deaf World Championships and was awarded second-best deaf sportsmen in the World.
In other games yesterday France beat Ukraine 11-77 to qualify for the semi-finals and Israel beat Ireland 15-9. Malta plays against Macedonia today.
