Minister Writes to commission again

Malta Independent Friday, 13 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

Competitiveness and Communications Minister Censu Galea has again asked the Permanent Commission Against Corruption to investigate a speech in parliament by Labour MP Joe Mizzi on Wednesday.

The minister was making his sixth request to the commission in these past weeks. Mr Mizzi made various allegations against employees of the Malta Maritime Authority and Mr Galea.

Mr Galea explained to the commission that its investigation was necessary because it was clear that Mr Mizzi would be abusing parliamentary privilege and had no intention of repeating outside the House of Representatives what he was saying there.
