The Suncrest Hotel said yesterday that one of the hotel’s swimming pool staff was involved in a “minor incident” which it described as “fortuitous and very minor”.
It was referring to reports that a chemical reaction that ensued when an employee was preparing a chlorine mixture led to partial evacuation of the hotel pool area on Wednesday.
The staff member involved was referred for a precautionary medical check-up and subsequently released without the need for treatment.
It added that at no time were any of the hotel guests, clients and other staff exposed to any risk as a result of the incident.
